Conductor announced its move to Meta. Existing Cloud users should prepare their exports.
The dates that matter
- 13 November 2026: Cloud becomes read-only. Existing chats and exports remain accessible, but messaging stops.
- 20 November 2026: Cloud shuts down and data deletion begins. Export beforehand.
The local app gets model updates and critical fixes until early 2027. Local wind-down starts then, with no precise closure date.
Move the workspace, then check the result
The 0.93.0 changelog explains how: right-click a cloud workspace and choose Transfer to local to bring it and its chats onto your Mac. For a complete data download, use Settings → Account → Export data.
Our suggested checks:
- Inventory active work. Note which projects depend on cloud workspaces and who needs the context.
- Verify the copy. Open the transferred workspace and downloaded archive. Check important chats, files and unfinished changes rather than assuming the export contains everything you need.
- Protect the backup. Keep project archives in an access-controlled location. Coding conversations can contain internal details even when the repository itself is backed up elsewhere.
- Test the local workflow. Run a small task before relying on that setup for important work.
These are preparation recommendations, not a transfer test we performed. A local copy can preserve continuity now, but teams should also choose a longer-term home for their workflow.
